Section one: Rethink: What is gender equality and why is it important
The first week will be provide background to the content which can be summarized as following:
Challenge 1: Develop an understanding of gender equality, and why gender integration makes a difference
In order to confront this challenge, participants will be led by the following learning objectives:
Learning Objectives: By the end of this section, you will be able to:
Explain the concepts of gender, equality, equity and non-discrimination on the basis of sex and gender
Advocate why it is necessary to integrate a gender perspective into all of OHCHR's work
Refer to the normative base on gender equality and the empowerment of women
OHCHR to send key instruments (CEDAW, Beijing, new HRC res on gender identify? etc)
